Hey friends, happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful June. I have some really fun things for you this month!
I know I’m probably late to the game, but ever since I finished Gilmore Girls a few months ago, I’m obsessed with Lauren Graham. She’s so funny, talented, and personable. So I was VERY excited when my husband got me her new book, Talking As Fast As I Can, for my birthday last month. Normally I’m not an autobiography kind of person, but I can’t resist this book. When I read it, I can totally hear Lauren’s voice in my head and picture her facial expressions. I’m not finished with it yet, but it is a delightful read!
I knew Paige from Letters and Paiges in high school, and even back then she inspired me to be more creative. Now she has her own lettering business, and let me tell you, her prints are beautiful! They are so fun and unique. You NEED to follow her on instagram @lettersandpaiges for daily doses of gorgeous lettering and artwork. Seriously amazing – I wish I had her talent!
My coworker, Amber, told me a few months ago that she was thinking about doing a blog. Although I was surprised, it made total sense when she told me more about her blog theme: reviewing public restrooms. You might be thinking, “that’s really random,” but Amber has just that kind of witty humor that makes something that may seem mundane and ordinary suddenly hilarious. If you’re looking for some fresh content, check out her first post, which reviews the best and worst public restrooms of downtown Fullerton.
My mother-in-law got me this Pride and Prejudice themed card game for my birthday and it. is. perfect. My sweet selfless husband played the first game with me and I had a blast! The game had so many fun elements from the book and was so different than any other game I’ve played! Just listen to how fun this sounds:
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that lovers of Pride and Prejudice want to marry Mr. Darcy. Marrying Mr. Darcy is a strategy card game where players are one of the female characters from Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice. Players work to improve themselves and attract the attention of the available Suitors. The ladies do this by attending Events and improving their Characters, but advantage can be gained by the use of Cunning. All of their efforts are in hopes of marrying well and becoming the most satisfied character at the end of the game!”
Anyone who enjoys Pride and Prejudice will love playing this game!
I must admit, I never read comic books when I was a kid and pretty much all I know about superheroes are from movies. But I am a big superhero movie fan! When I went to see Wonder Woman a few weeks ago, I decided this is my new favorite. As Matt and I were leaving the movie he asked what I thought, and I didn’t have words, it was so amazing. I left feeling so empowered and loving how the movie demonstrated weaving in justice with grace in such a tangible way. If you see one movie this summer, go see this one! Also, for those of you who have Netflix, another great movie that I reviewed, Lion, is coming out this month!
