Jan. ’20 Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Was it just me, or was January the longest month ever? I’m already making plans for spring break so counting down the days is making time crawl by. I’ve gotten so many good things recently that it was really hard to narrow down to five for this post, so you’re getting all the best of my new favorites!

1. Vishine gel nail set

I got some really great Christmas gifts this year, but I think this one was life-changing. Here’s the thing, I love having my nails painted but I’m way too cheap to go get them done regularly. I prefer self-care in the form of ice cream and long baths. Anyways, my nails are pretty much always painted, but I hate when they chip off after a few days. My parents bought me this at home gel nail set and it. is. amazing. It takes a bit to get the hang of painting the thin layers and not getting ANYTHING on your fingers, but once you do it looks so good! Not only do they stay on for a while, but they look great until you take them off because they don’t chip or crack. At $40, you get the light, a top and base coat, 6 polishes, and a whole kit of extra goodies. Seriously such a good deal.

2. One Night Ultimate Werewolf

Surprise, surprise – we got a new game! We won this in a white elephant exchange right before Christmas and have really enjoyed playing it. It’s kind of like Mafia if you’ve ever played that. Essentially, everyone gets a role in the game, goes to sleep and one at a time does whatever their role is, then everyone wakes up and tries to figure out who the werewolves are. The catch is, your role could have changed while you were asleep. It says 3-10 players but I’d recommend a minimum of 5.

3. SodaStream Fizzi

As y’all know, one of my goals is drinking more water this year, but I had to figure out a way to spice it up a little! Who likes plain water amiright? For our anniversary, I bought us a SodaStream so we could save some money on sparkling water and it was a GREAT decision. I got the Fizzi which came with one bottle and one CO2 can, and I got a few flavors to go with it. We have used the SodaStream several times a week so it was definitely a good investment. If you like drinking Bubly, La Croix or any sparkling water brand, I would highly recommend trying out a SodaStream!

4. EaseGave work bag

I recently got a new job that requires me to carry my laptop around a lot, and the bag I had wasn’t cutting it. I got this work bag as another Christmas gift and it has been perfect for me! It has shoulder handles as well as a fabric crossbody strap, which at first I was a little unsure about but now I love because I’m not worried about it cracking like a leather strap. There are three main compartments with padding for a laptop, and three smaller pockets. If you’re in the market for a new bag, this one is reasonably priced at $50 and it comes in a lot of fun colors!

5. Little Women

I’m a big Little Women fan – both the book and Winona Ryder movie – so I wasn’t sure how I felt about a new Little Women movie coming out. But I was SO impressed with the new movie. The acting was phenomenal with every character, but Saoirse Ronan and Emma Watson stole the show. It was the same story but it was presented in a new way. I walked away from the movie encouraged and inspired and wanting to watch it again!

Hope you enjoyed my roundup! I’d love to know if you got anything great for Christmas too, so feel free to leave a comment!
