Hey friends! It’s officially fall, whether the weather is cooperating or not! Soon it will be time to put on the layers, pull out the boots, and grab some sweaters for a cozier wardrobe. My sweet mother-in-law recently offered to get me some new fall clothes from Macy’s, so I have been super blessed to get a few great staples! This post is not sponsored by Macy’s in any way, I just wanted to share a few great finds for those of you looking to get some new fall clothes. Shout out to my amazing friend Meredith for doing this photo shoot with me in the hot Virginia weather!
This first outfit has two pieces that are a little out of my comfort zone, but I am glad I got them! I took a risk and ordered a cheetah printed zip-detail shirt since animal print is in right now. It’s not something I would normally wear as it’s a little bold, but it is actually one of my favorite things I got and the fabric is really soft! I also ordered a pleated black midi skirt from I.N.C. to try. Typically midi styles don’t look great on me since I’m on the shorter side, but I really like how it looks! It will be good for fall months since it’s longer, and the pleated fabric is fairly forgiving.
I also paired the skirt with a blue basic utility shirt I ordered that was on sale and goes with pretty much everything. I’m wearing it with these Kelly & Katie leopard flats I already had, they are so comfy!
The leopard shirt goes with everything, including these Alfani skinny pants! I got them in new wine, which is more of a burgundy color. They are great work pants because they are really high quality, while being super comfy because they have stretchy material. They definitely add some good variety into my work wardrobe.
The shoes I’m wearing are memory-foam perforated shooties in olive. I have never really liked booties with the toes cut out because I didn’t think they looked good on me, but I ordered these shooties because they had great reviews and I’m SO glad I did. They are ridiculously comfy with the memory foam at the bottom, and they are really cute! They keep my feet surprisingly warm even with the cutouts, and they can easily be dressed up or down.
The locals of the city we live in call it “drenchburg” because of how much it rains. After two years living here, I realized I needed a good rain coat that could be dressed up or down, as my pink rain jacket was a little unprofessional for work. I love the fit of this Calvin Klein belted trench coat, and I really like that it comes with a hood! It’s fairly warm and roomy enough for a sweater, and it’s long enough to wear with a dress, too!
I also really needed some boots for the rain, as I really only have a black pair I wear to work. I got these adorable ankle booties in brown, and they go with so many things! I like the double zippers and that they don’t come up too high – for my shorter pants I don’t even need to roll them.
I love a good comfy shirt, and I was in desperate need of some long sleeved shirts for the fall. I got this V-neck curved hem t-shirt from I.N.C. in hunter forest, and I love the jewel toned color! As you can see, it goes perfect with jeans.
I sadly got a hole in one of my favorite cardigans, so getting a new cardigan was a MUST. I this crew-neck cardigan in intrepid blue from Karen Scott. It goes perfect with pants and skirts, and hits my waist at just the right point. A big plus is that the sleeves aren’t too long!
As my mom can attest, I’ve been searching for some red pants for at least a year. I ordered these Celebrity Pink skinnies in burnt red and they are the PERFECT color for fall. They have a bit of a velvety touch which I really like, and they aren’t too long for my short legs. They are high waisted, which I haven’t tried before but it helps keep everything in. Another long sleeved shirt I got is this gray Style & Co long-sleeve scoop-neck top. It might be the comfiest shirt I’ve ever owned. It feels like I’m wearing butter!
I also wanted to get some shirts that would be good for work that have some extra detail. This pretty illusion-sleeve top is perfect for dressing up or down, and will especially come in handy around the holidays I’m sure!
This second cardigan is a duster in blue mirage that’s also from Karen Scott. I’ve already worn this so many times because it’s soooo comfy! It goes great with pants or dresses.
Last but not least, I got this colorblocked pullover sweater in merlot combo, and I love the colors! It’s a bit of a looser fit, but cozy is the name of the game when it comes to fall clothes so I think it’s perfect.
I hope you guys enjoyed my first fashion style post! Let me know what you think, and if you have any questions about sizes or anything, feel free to reach out!
